Senator Angus King and Senator Susan Collins are working on a proposal to allow customers get a refundable federal tax credit for costs associated with installing heat pumps. They say this is a good idea for Maine because heat pumps cool and heat homes more efficiently than fossil fuels. Heat Pumps are the only source of heat that can also provide cooling. Efficiency Maine also offers heat pump rebates for qualifying systems, up to $1500.00.

What is a green home worth? There are many ways to improve the health and efficiency of your home, while making it more comfortable and reducing its draw on our natural resources (and potentially even your bank account). Wondering what value this could add to your property? The first conversation in the Home + Energy Chats series will explore how various home improvements, such as air sealing and insulation, solar energy, heat pumps, balanced ventilation systems (such as ERVs and HRVs), electric car chargers and more are being received in today’s real estate market. And if you’re selling your home, what you need to know to be sure that your home is valued accordingly. Join us, as we hear from these industry experts:

Air-sourced heat pumps are easier to install and cost less to install than Geothermal heat pumps. They typically cost less than purchasing both a heating and cooling system (heat pumps do both!) Heat pumps are more efficient and better for the environment and are a smart choice when replacing old systems or building a new home.
The demand for air-sourced heat pumps is expected to increase in 2021 according to a study by Freedonia “Heat Pump Market in the US.” If you have been thinking about getting a new heating or cooling system I would not wait to call to schedule a free estimate.
We are now scheduling cleanings starting March 15th.
Call us at 207-400-4065 to make an appointment.
We are committed to providing all of our customers with on-going customer service. Our goal is to ensure that your heat pump continues to operate as efficiently as it did when we initially installed it. In order to accomplish this, we ask that you clean the filters in your indoor units on a regular basis, preferably every 30-60 days.
We also recommend that the units be cleaned by one of our highly trained Service Technicians on a biennial basis. A professional and thorough cleaning is an essential step in maintaining your investment and providing you with years of heating and cooling satisfaction.
Our Technicians will, as a minimum, perform the following tasks listed below.
Clean the indoor heat exchanger coil, blower wheel, and the outside condenser coil.
Wash the large and small filters located in the indoor unit.
Flush the condensate line and verify that it is free of obstructions and draining properly.
Insert pan treatment tablets in the drain pan that will assist in keeping the drain from being plugged and help control odor.
Test, measure and record operating temperatures at the indoor unit.
Check and clean condensate pump, if applicable.
We suspend cleanings when temperatures go below freezing.
Prices vary depending on your equipment configuration. We would be happy to provide you with a specific quote prior to scheduling.
